Cyberpunk RED Alert: June 2025 DLC – Rockerboy Index

“It doesn’t stop with Johnny, either.” – J Gray

June 2025’s DLC release is a unique one, as this DLC is indeed focused on 2045 but…J Gray went all the way back to the beginning to make it. Pulling bands, names, and lore from 2013 all the way up to 2077, we bring you the Rockerboy Index! I’ll let it be put in his own words.

Normally, we start our DLCs with a bit of clever fiction. This time, I’d like to invite you on a journey along the path of history and into my sometimes chaotic thought process. Let’s start in 1988, when the first edition of Cyberpunk, the roleplaying game of the Dark Future, hits the shelves. Rule lovers immediately notice the fast and furious Friday Night Firefight combat system, but lore lovers notice something else – the thematic core of Cyberpunk isn’t formed by the gun-wielding Solos, but by the guitar-thrashing Rockerboys.

The focus of the debut piece of Cyberpunk fiction, Never Fade Away, is musician Johnny Silverhand. Johnny’s attempted rescue of Alt Cunningham, using a concert as the driving force, sets the tone for Cyberpunk from day one and rever-berates through time to the real-world 2020s, when words on paper became a playable sequence on screen in Cyberpunk 2077.

It doesn’t stop with Johnny, either. Of the six in-world articles packaged in that original Cyberpunk box set, two are about gangs, one is about Trauma Team, and three focus on musical acts. Music has always been the beating, bleeding heart of the game. Hell, it’s in the name, isn’t it?

For distribution of this DLC, we are testing out something new. Above will take you to the DLC in our webstore in the Free Downloadable Content category. This is a wider test to see how well it will work and also to test the ease of searching and finding for newer players. It is free and delivery is instant, if you don’t see it outright, check your spam folder.

There is an initial confirmation e-mail, then the file is sent to you in a second one. For now, we’re only feeling this out, if you wish to obtain the DLC the old school way, you can head to our Downloadable Content page at the button below.

We’re getting ahead of a future problem. So we are trying a way for newer players to be able to find the DLC they need, while established players also are able to navigate and access what they want.
