Invented Tech Upgrades has been updated to v1.1

  • Changed cost of of NPC Tech labor. Feel free to bargain!
  • Added a small note to the Thermometer.
  • Updated several items to indicate what the Upgrade should be installed in.
  • Updated text of Stun Bunny to clarify Skill and Range information.



Tech Upgrades and Inventions are the most dynamic thing a player can tap into when playing Cyberpunk RED. Those who play Tech are able to quite literally homebrew their own items into the game (at their GM’s discretion, balancing, and tweaking after the fact. Remember GMs, you can say no to an insane item when your player is going wild!)

Costs and balancing are always at the top of questions that GMs send our way, and players too who are trying to find their next cool thing to bring to Night City! So, for March 2026, we’ve taken our notes to bring you Invented Tech Upgrades!

This DLC contains not only a list of pre-made Invented Tech Upgrade as examples, but also what we call the Thermometer. This will give you a gauge on price, power, and how much it may take for a Tech to craft without giving a GM grief.

Guidelines, not rules, however! Guidelines people! Remember, these are not hard rules, and it comes down to the individuality of every table to gauge what will/won’t fit into their world. And it is the GM who has final say!
