From the Screamsheets, 3/3/2019
You may be begging for winter to end but you can still read From the Screamsheets, our weekly look at R. Talsorian Games news around the NET.
This week, we’ve got some amazing stuff from RTG as well as a few tidbits we found using Google. Who says a corp can’t be helpful? And, of course, we’ve got our weekly trivia contest winner and a new chance for you to win an RTG PDF!
Seeing Red
Two days ago, R. Talsorian media ambassador J Gray reported on his experiences with a beta game of Cyberpunk Red, the upcoming new edition of the classic tabletop roleplaying game of the Dark Future! His analysis: It feels different but at the same time familiar, adding new tweaks to the classic Cyberpunk formula without moving it too far away from its roots. Plus, it gives a nice glimpse as to how the world is recovering from the 4th Corporate War and moving towards the future of Cyberpunk 2077.
Listen Up! Episode 2
We went live with episode 2 of Listen Up!, our podcast where Mike and Cody Pondsmith answer questions about Cyberpunk, The Witcher TRPG, and all things R. Talsorian. You can find the show on your favorite podcatcher or right here, on our site, and even on YouTube!
Wild RTG Spotted in the UK!
We’ve spotted instances of Cyberpunk, Mekton Zeta, the Witcher TRPG, and other RTG products spawning in the gaming wilds of the United Kingdom! If you’re in Europe, now’s a great time to order a copy from a local source with lower shipping costs.
Jackalope has a Dark Day
Matthew Webb, one of the creative forces behind our partner Jackalope LARP Studios, visited the Darker Days podcast to discuss the world of Cyberpunk 2020. There’s a lot of thoughtful information provided and its well worth a listen.
Would a German Witcher Be from the School of the Eagle?
German publisher Truant has announced their localization of The Witcher TRPG will be released at RPC Germany! We’re looking forward to seeing the game in the hands of German fans!
Dreaming About the Past
Gaming community The Gauntlet is examining the history of licensed RPGs in a series of articles on their Age of Ravens blog. That includes an intriguing analysis of Dream Park, our classic “holodeck” RPG based on the novels by Larry Niven.
The Trivia Contest!
And, finally, our weekly trivia contest!
At the end of each From the Screamsheets, we ask a trivia question and invite people to send in their answers. From the correct answers received, we randomly pick one winner to receive one currently published R. Talsorian Games PDF of their choice. Last week’s question:
Teenagers from Outerspace is a roleplaying game of wacky hijinx and anime tropes! One of the characters introduced in the game is Princess Karma, who comes to Earth seeking a consort. Our question this week: What does Princess Karma say she is the supreme ruler of?
Answer: Princess Karma was Supreme Ruler of All of Galaxy Nine
The winner this week is Rob Sutherland-Smith, who will receive The Witcher TRPG PDF!
Onto this week’s question!
In Cyberpunk 2020, Johnny Silverhand is famously a former member of the Samurai, a chromatic rock band but they split after only a few albums. What was the title of Johnny’s first solo album?
If you think you know the answer, fill out the form below! We’ll pick one winner at random from all the correct answers and send them their PDF of choice. Please remember, only PDFs currently for sale can be chosen as a prize.
That’s it for this week’s From the Screamsheets. Until next week, mind your manners, keep your giant robots polished, your swords sharp, and stay safe on the streets.
