Our partners at CD Projekt Red rocked the world yesterday with a new trailer for their upcoming video game, Cyberpunk 2077, and the reveal that Keanu Reeves will be playing legendary rockeryboy Johnny Silverhand. Just in case you missed it, here’s the trailer.
So, that’s a thing!
Mike, Lisa, and Cody Pondsmith were present and in the audiences as guests of CD Projekt Red when the big reveal was made.
Honestly, we’re so thrilled we may have to rewrite Deep Space to include a new R. Talsorian Games HQ on Mars because we are over the freaking moon.
But that’s not all!
CD Projekt Red has announced the bonuses for the game and everyone who buys a copy of Cyberpunk 2077, standard or collector’s version, will receive a digital copy of Cyberpunk 2020!
We’ve had a few questions. Why Cyberpunk 2020 and not the upcoming Cyberpunk Red?
Cyberpunk 2077 is being made by fans of Cyberpunk 2020. They played the game and it inspired them. Fond memories of stalking the streets of Night City is what led to the decision to make Cyberpunk 2077.
When it came time to decide what shipped with the video game, CD Projekt Red insisted on providing everyone who played their new creation with the tabletop RPG which led to this amazing project. It is, in short, an homage.
And we think that’s awesome.
Cyberpunk Red, btw, is our upcoming new edition of the classic tabletop roleplaying game of the Dark Future. We’re releasing the Cyberpunk 2077 Jumpstart Kit, a starter box set, at GenCon 2019 and the full core book later. For more information, please keep tuned here and read the Cyberpunk Red FAQ.
We’ll have more about R. Talsorian Games at E3 later in the week! See you soon, choombas!
