From the Screamsheets, 2/10/2019

You may be just a fool falling in love, but you can still read From the Screamsheets, our weekly peek at R. Talsorian Games news and information!

This week, we’ll be talking LARPs, monsters, Teenagers from Outerspace, and more. And, of course, there’s also our weekly trivia contest! Let’s dig in.

The Latest from RTG

Cody Pondsmith, dashingly handsome rogue and lead designer of The Witcher Tabletop Roleplaying Game, has posted a developer’s log outlining three of the monsters which will be feared in the upcoming bestiary, A Witcher’s Journal.

And if you haven’t noticed, each day until 1/1/2020, we’re posting a fact about the Cyberpunk 2020 world. We call it #countdowntothedarkfuture and if you’ve missed it, here’s a video of January’s facts smashed up into a super cut and set to some funky beats.

R. Talsorian Events!

There are two events of note coming up which concern our games!

Mike and Cody Pondsmith will be guests at TotalCon in Marlborough, MA from 2/21 to 2/24! They’ll be running games of Cyberpunk and The Witcher TRPG and hanging out, so if you can come and say hello, consider doing so!

And if you want still more Cyberpunk 2020 action, check out the trailer video for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2020 Night City LARP by our partners at Jackalope Studios! It looks positively chill! Tickets for the LARP are on sale now!

Not Everything is Dark

Of course, R. Talsorian Games isn’t just about dark fantasy and dark futures! We also publish Teenagers from Outer Space, the anime comedy roleplaying game about going to Earth high school as, you guessed it, a teenager from outer space! Or a human one, if you want.

LaughLoveLindy and her amazing crew of friends are running a once a month campaign of TFOS and it is honestly one of the funniest things we’ve seen on YouTube. They’re several episodes in now, but you can check out the first episode below! Seriously. Look at those costumes!

Night City Recreated!

Brutal Games has begun a project to reconstruct Night City in the Cities: Skylines city building engine. They aren’t quite sure if they want to continue, so if you watch the video and want to see more, be sure to let them know!

Projects and Contests!

Just a reminder! We’re trying a new feature where we provide you a name and some basic guidelines and you create the character. We’ll feature the characters sent in here on the blog. This isn’t a contest but its a fun community exercise. The current character name is Cherry Bomb and you have until 2/15 to send her in to jgreyattalsorian@gmai.com. Here’s the details.

And now, the trivia contest!

At the end of each From the Screamsheets, we ask a trivia question and invite people to send in their answers. From the correct answers received, we randomly pick one winner to receive one currently published R. Talsorian Games PDF of their choice. Last week’s question:

Friday Night Firefight is, famously, the name of the combat system in Cyberpunk and Cyberpunk 2020R. Talsorian Games created three additional systems with day/time based names which serve as add-ons or alternative rules for FFNF. What are these three systems called? Here’s a hint: While there are three systems, they can be found in two books.

Answer: Saturday Night Skuffle from Cybergeneration and Saturday Night Slugfest and High Noon Shootout from Listen Up, You Primitive Screwheads!!!

The winner this week is Rachel! She’ll be receiving a copy of The Witcher TRPG PDF just as soon as DriveThruRPG has ironed out the last of their bugs from a recent server move. Congratulations, Rachel!

And here’s this week’s question!

The Witcher TRPG introduced two new characters to the Continent’s cannon as devices to explain the game. One of them was Rodolf Kazmer, a dwarven merchant. Which kingdom was he born and raised in?

Know the answer? Fill out the form below! Please remember, you can only pick a currently published PDF as a prize. We cannot give out products not yet released.

That’s all this week! Keep your swords sharp, your giant robots polished, and stay safe on the street. See you next week for more From the Screamsheets!
