Cyberpunk RED Alert: Resources for RED
Hello, Choombas! A month has passed since we released Cyberpunk RED and the reception has been wonderful. Thank you so much for making the game the number one best selling science fiction game on DriveThruRPG and for helping us sell through our first print run.
Now that the game’s been out for a few weeks, clever Gamemasters and Players have begun posting homebrew resources for use with the game. We thought we’d spotlight a few useful places to check out for more information, more ideas, and how to play.
Cyberpunk RED FAQ
Let’s start with our own efforts. We’ve put together a FAQ of questions we’ve received from gamers. Hopefully, this will help answer any queries you might have. Rest assured, we’ll continue to update this FAQ as time marches forward.
Connecting with Fellow Edgerunners
There are several communities on the internet where Cyberpunk RED gamers can connect with each other. Here’s a few:
- R. Talsorian Games Discord: Our official Discord server.
- Cyberpunk RED Facebook Group: A fan run community on the biggest social media platform out there.
- Cyberpunk RED Subreddit: Not only a great place where people help answer questions and share ideas, but also a solid location to find homebrew resources, from new Character Sheets to new adventures to run, for Cyberpunk RED.
How to Play Vids
You’ll find “how to play Cyberpunk RED” videos on several YouTube channels. Here’s a list. Please be sure to show some love by liking and subscribing. Please note, this is not a complete list and might be out of date by the time you read it. People are excited to play Cyberpunk RED, so there’s new content being added all the time. This list is in alphabetical order and not in order of preference so check them all out!
- Blades and Blasters
- The Botch Pit
- CeeTom
- Cyberpunk Uncensored
- The Dark Lord of Knee Takers
- Ekorren
- Jon Jon the Wise
- Triple S League
That’s all for this week. Until next, stay safe on the streets!

Everywhere is sold out… how long do we have to wait
We’re reprinting now but it does take time to print and bind new books, as well as to ship them into the distribution chain. Especially during the holiday season.
More to the rules clarifications:
A bunch of weapons require BODY 11, but with the maximum stat value in character generation being 8, and there being no system for increasing stats post-generation, it seems the only way to use these weapons is if the character has either the Hugh or full Locutus Linear Frame implants, full stop.
Is this correct?
Yes. To use those weapons without a mount, you would need to be a walking assault platform. Hence, the borgware.
Another rules clarification:
Could you expound a bit on why you have chosen to not provide a system for improving stats with IP’s?
A question about the creative process, specifically pertaining to the in-world background events:
I’m comparing the events leading up to the end of the 4th Corporate War as described in Cyberpunk Red in with the descriptions of the same events given in Cyberpunk 2077. While these match in general outline, there seem to be significant differences in detail.
So … how closely are the worlds in Cyberpunk Red and Cyberpunk 2077 related?
Are both “canonical” descriptions of the same world, so there are in-world explanations to any apparent discrepancies, or are they like the Witcher games vs. the Witcher TV show — different interpretations; i.e. they build on the same source material, but can’t be expected to match in detail?
Cyberpunk 2020, Cyberpunk RED, and Cyberpunk 2077 take place in the same world at different points in the timeline. There are reasons for the differences you’re seeing. If you’re talking about experiences you have due to Johnny’s presence in your head? Pay attention to what Alt says.
