Cyberpunk 2020 Update

Greetings, choombas!

We’ve received a lot of buzz lately, asking about the Cyberpunk 2020 core rulebook. Questions such as:

  • “Why haven’t I received my core rulebook yet?”
  • “When are you getting more copies of the core rulebook in stock so I can order it?”
  • “Why is my copy of the core rulebook trying to eat the cat?”

Those are all fantastic questions. Here’s the best answers we’ve got.

Regarding the first question, the plain truth is we’re overwhelmed. Since CD Projekt Red debuted the trailer and closed door early gameplay videos for Cyberpunk 2077 at E3, we’ve been flooded with orders for Cyberpunk 2020. In fact, the orders for the core rulebook have increased by 800 percent per week since E3! On the other hand, the size of the staff handling order fulfillment and shipping has remained the same: two people.

R. Talsorian Games is a mom and pop shop. Mind you, when the mom is Lisa Pondsmith and the pop is Mike Pondsmith, its all kinds of awesome, but even they can only work so fast; Especially with Gen Con and The Witcher TRPG release coming up. We are working on a solution to get a faster product pipeline in place but such things do take time and, again, the biggest gaming convention in existence is just around the corner. In the meanwhile, butts are being worked off in order to fulfill orders as possible as quickly as possible.

As to the second question: we’ve got enough copies of Cyberpunk 2020 to fulfill the orders currently in and still have a few copies left over for sale at Gen Con. We’ve got things in the works with printers to get a new batch run so the game will be back up for sale at our website. We’re really hoping to flip the switch from “out of stock” to “for sale” in the second week of August.

Now, for the third question… your Cyberpunk 2020 book is amazing but it shouldn’t be an animated object and it most certainly shouldn’t be trying to eat anything. Sounds like a monster in disguise to me. Have you tried consulting a witcher?
