Its still Cyberpunk’s birthday and we’re still handing out presents! In fact, today we’ve got so many to share it’ll be done in two posts!

An Extra Anniversary Event!

First, we said we’d be capping off our 30th anniversary Celebration of Cyberpunk with a special From the Screamsheets this weekend. Turns out we were wrong! The special From the Screamsheets is still happening, but the party goes on until Monday (9/3/18), when Maximum Mike will be appearing at PAX West in the Sphinx Theater with Eurogamer’s Johnny Chiodini for Mike Pondsmith in Conversation, A History of Cyberpunk. Mike and Johnny will be discussing not just the history of the game but of the genre as a whole.

Interested? There’s still Monday passes available for Pax West on their site. Entrance to the panel is first come, first serve and no special tickets are required beyond a pass for the convention itself.

Johnny’s Got a Cybergun (Not really. He’s a media. He’s got a microphone.)

And who is this Johnny Chiodini guy that’ll will be sitting down with Mike? Johnny’s one-fourth of Eurogamer’s video team and has been putting out entertaining, informative, and occasionally even emotionally touching vids about video games and related matters on Eurogamer’s channel for a while now. His talents also extend to tabletop RPGs, where he’s been known to take the OutsideXBox and OutsideXtra crew through their paces in a certain popular fantasy roleplaying game as Gamemaster.

Most importantly for any good cyberpunk, Johnny was one of the lucky game media types to get a sneak peak at the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay footage at E3. Since then, he’s been putting together a series of videos comparing the lore and mechanics of Cyberpunk 2020 to what he (and now we) have seen so far in the video game.

His first video explored characters and classes in both Cyberpunk 2020 and 2077.

Next, he gave a nice breakdown of augmentations and cyberware.

And, just out this morning (For those of us in the States, a look at running the net!
