From the Screamsheets, 1/6/2019

We may be one year closer to the Dark Future, but you can still read From the Screamsheets, our weekly roundup of where R. Talsorian Games is being chatted up on the NET. We’re back after the holiday break, so let’s dig in!

Topping the Charts

Geek Native has some amazing news from us at the tail end of 2018. They worked through data provided by DriveThruRPG (fine purveyors of digital and print on demand roleplaying game books) and announced the bestselling titles of 2018, broken down by category.

Speaking of The Witcher TRPG…

If you want to learn more about Lords and Lands, the first expansion for the game, Geek Native has you covered there, too, with information and a preview image of the GM Screen’s gorgeous player side.

Onto some Cyberpunk

There’s a lot of buzz out there about Cyberpunk 2020 now that we’re entering 2019. A lot of it comes from the upcoming video game based on the property but we like to think some of its love for the original pen and paper game. Over at Bell of Lost Souls, they’ve posted a great primer on the setting, well worth a red.

And we aren’t being idle here, either. Its less than a year now to the real 2020 and we’re celebrating by posting one Cyberpunk 2020 fact each day until the end of 2019. You can read the collected facts on our site or subscribe to our various social media channels, where they’ll be posted each day. Here’s today’s fact!

Live Action in the Dark Future!

Jackalope Studios is ramping up for their upcoming Cyberpunk 2020 LARP scheduled for May 25, 2019. Tickets are expected to go on sale soon!

The event will be huge and they’re pulling out all the stops with an amazing venue and clever plans to bring Night City and the Dark Future to life. Check out this video of their hacking game prototype, which you’ll be able to run from provided “dataterms” or your own “cyberdeck”!

If you want to know more about the event, head over to the Jackalope Studios page on Facebook. There you’ll find vids of their walkthrough of the site and be able to exchange cosplay ideas with other fans! We’re looking forward to it!

OrcaCon!

Mike and Cody Pondsmith, lead designers for Cyberpunk 2020 and The Witcher TRPG will be guests at OrcaCon next weekend! There, they’ll be talking about their respective games and answering questions. It runs 1/11 to 1/13 in Hilton Bellevue, Washington and sounds hella chill, so please check it out! Other guests include Dungeons and Dragons managing editor Jeremy Crawford, Green Ronin veterans Joseph Carriker, Jaym Gates, and Steve Kenson (who is also a credited Castle Falkenstein writer!), and Kiva Maginn, lead Battletech designer for Hairbrained Studios (a giant robot fighting game ALMOST as good as Mekton… 😉 )!

Holiday Message Redux

And if you missed our special holiday message, here it is in all its strange glory!

That’s all, everyone! Keep your swords sharp, your giant robots polished, and stay safe on the streets! See you next week.
