From the Screamsheets, 3/31/2019

You may be searching for a shiny castform, but you can still read From the Screamsheets, our weekly roundup of everything new and interesting about R. Talsorian Games in the news and on the NET!

This week, we’ve got a brand new award, peeks at RTG on venerated internet institutions, and of course, our weekly trivia contest where you have a chance to win an R. Talsorian Games PDF of your choice!

So, without further adieu, Talsorian Titans Go!

Spotlighting Actual Plays!

This month we began a new feature on the R. Talsorian Games blog! Towards the end of each month we’ll be posting a column about Actual Plays of our games. We’ll focus on campaigns which have completed their runs, reached milestones, or just started. In addition, each month we’ll be giving out the amazing SHINY TALSORIAN REX AWARD to a deserving Actual Play which has gone above and beyond to entertain.

This month’s SHINY TALSORIAN REX AWARD goes to the Cool Kids at Aces High campaign of Teenagers from Outer Space on the LaughLoveLindsey channel.

Vampires Get a Life(path)

Every Friday (occasionally Saturday) we post a development log about one of our products in progress. This week, Cody Pondsmith took a break from figuring out the bite force of a Chimera to talk about Higher Vampires. Specifically, about how the upcoming  The Witcher TRPG bestiary, A Witcher’s Journal, will allow GMs to make each Higher Vampire different by giving them a Lifepath to roll on (or choose from), much like PCs in the game.

The Industry is Buzzing About RTG

Gen Con 2019 will be, as it always is, the largest tabletop game event in the United States and they’re building up hype with videos well in advance. In their TableTakes Presented by GenCon episode this week, the hosts had some interesting theories about both our upcoming The Witcher TRPG releases and Cyberpunk Red.

And they weren’t the only ones sharing the news. Over at ICv2, one of the leading sites for geek news and analysis, they shared our slate of upcoming releases with a few juicy tidbits gleaned from an onsight interview with Cody Pondsmith at the GAMA Trade Show.

Virtual Cyberpunk?

If you happen to be into Roll20 and are looking for an in with the Cyberpunk 2020 playing community there, check out this post looking for coding help. It seems the problem was solved but following the thread might lead to fan made resources you can use. Maybe even a new gaming friend or two!

RTG in Famous Places on the Internet

Did you know Mike Pondsmith has an IMDB page?

So does Cody Pondsmith!

Both of them could use a headshot, though. If you happen to be an IMDB Pro member, feel free to grab one of the pictures from our site to use there!

And if you’re active on TVTropes, the Cyberpunk 2020 page feels a bit thin. There’s so much work that could be done there!

The Trivia Contest!

And, finally, our weekly trivia contest!

At the end of each From the Screamsheets, we ask a trivia question and invite people to send in their answers. From the correct answers received, we randomly pick one winner to receive one currently published R. Talsorian Games PDF of their choice. Last week’s question:

Being an anime inspired game, Mekton’s Lifepath includes a number of tropes from the genre, including unusual hair colors. Name three hair colors you can randomly roll (and what numbers you have to roll on a d10 to get them) on the Mekton Zeta Lifepath which generally require dye to achieve in the real world.

Answer: Blue (2), Green (3), Orange (7), Purple (8), and Silver (9) were all acceptable answers.

This week’s winner is Brandon Belewberg, who will be receiving a PDF copy of Castle Falkenstein!

Onto this week’s question!

One of the biggest inspirations for Castle Falkenstein is the novel Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope. Of course, Castle Falkenstein wasn’t the only thing inspired by the classic book! An entire genre of fiction, Ruritanian Romance, was named after the fictional country in the book! In fact, one of the most famous leaders of the last two centuries wrote a book in the genre. Who was this leader and what was the title of their novel?

If you think you know the answer, fill out the form below! We’ll pick one winner at random from all the correct answers and send them their PDF of choice. Please remember, only PDFs currently for sale can be chosen as a prize.
